'When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars that you have established, what are human beings that you are mindful of them, mortals that you care for them?'   Psalm 8 3-4

Full moon is this coming Friday, Oct 6.  Anytime the sky is clear, isn't it awesome to look up when it's dark and take in the fabulous sight of moon and stars?

Doesn't such a sight draw you to our Creator in wonder, love, and praise?  To think that we human beings are created in God's image, and given trusteeship over creation, humbles us and exalts us at the same time.  What an extraordinary honor to be stewards of the created order!  How are you taking care of God's earth, air, water, and living things?

"By the power of the Holy Spirit, we will utilize all our God given gifts to welcome and connect all people in loving relationships with Jesus Christ, each other, and our community."    Redeemer's Vision Statement

WORSHIP ATTENDANCE GOAL from October through May of 2007 is to average 100 people for Sunday worship each week.  Last Sunday we had 85.  Not bad, but we can do much better, and with your commitment we will--starting this coming Sunday.

MAC 'N CHEESE MOUNTAINOur goal is to collect 2,000 (yes, two thousand) boxes of macaroni and cheese for Marion Polk Food Share.  That's a great challenge, but I'm confident we can do it...and then some!  "I was hungry and you gave me food," Jesus says.  Let's do it for his sake!  Make the mac and cheese mountain grow week by week, with October 22 our deadline.

HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACES are available for 11 cars in our parking lot, all of them near the main entrances.  Please, let those who have disabilities--especially mobility disabilities or difficulties--have those spaces.  It's an important way for us to honor and respect those with special needs.

SPECIAL SUNDAYS COMING UP:
  • October 15.....Disabilities Awareness Sunday
  • October 22.....Oktoberfest Potluck following our worship, with the film on global warming, "An Inconvenient Truth", to follow, shown right in our sanctuary.   Oct. 22 is also the deadline for our mac 'n cheese mountain (see above).
  • October 29.....Reformation Sunday.  Don't forget to set your clocks forward one hour before bed on Saturday night.
Final thought--have you learned the names of all our children and youth yet?  Do you greet them by name and talk to them?  Jesus would.

See you in worship this Sunday!
